COVID-19 UPDATE:

After soul searching and guidance from a variety of wise beings, I’ve chosen to cancel my in-person, 2020, FSS workshops. I look forward to a time when I can offer these workshops again.

In the meantime, the FSS has been busy creating online opportunities for online meetings and some shamanic training workshops. Please visit the FSS’s news blog for more information, updates and support, and information about my online FSS Community Gatherings and Workshops below!

The Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) also has a wealth of information on their site about Core ShamanismFSS workshops, and the work of the Foundation. If you’re in the mood, I recommend you browse through their site, and check out some articles and videos.

If you’re curious about the workshops, a good place to start is on the FSS’s workshops page, or their Frequently Asked Questions page. And of course, if you have specific questions, you are welcome to contact me directly.

Note: all workshops are limited to participants 18 years and older. Journeys are aided with percussive drumming, only (i.e. no herbs or tonics are offered as a part of this program).

For more information on the workshops and registration, please scroll down.

FSS CORE SHAMANISM Community Meetings

FSS Core Shamanism Online Community Meetings are designed to support the shamanic community in these challenging times. We will have the opportunity to practice shamanic self-care, share stories of hope and inspiration, and journey for ways we can personally help during the pandemic and other global crises.

These experiential meetings are hosted by FSS faculty members and will be in full video using Zoom video conferencing, with all participants able to be seen and heard. There will be opportunities to share and to interact with each other in small groups.

Community meetings are offered by the FSS as a service to the shamanic community at no cost to attendees. Zoom is free to individual users.

Shamanism for inspired local and Global Change (online)

In these challenging times, shamanic work, when combined with ordinary reality knowledge and action, can make an immense contribution toward effective long-term solutions for community and global problems. Shamanic divination – asking the fully compassionate spirits for answers to questions – is particularly helpful in providing inspired and workable ways to address complex issues in ordinary reality.

This workshop offers practical methods to gain and apply wisdom from the spirits to resolve persistent problems facing humanity, our precious Earth, and its inhabitants.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Practice applying shamanic divination/journeying methods to the problem-solving process
  • Use shamanic divination to gain insight into real-world issues you care about
  • Examine ethical guidelines and issues of permission
  • Look at some of the personal benefits of spirit-inspired community action
  • Explore possible ways to ethically invoke the presence and power of the compassionate spirits in our world

This experiential online training taught by FSS faculty members is offered via Zoom video conferencing, which is free to individual users. Participants will see and hear each other and interact in pairs and small groups, as well as in the full circle. (All students must participate with audio and video.) Faculty members may teach the workshop in four three-hour sessions or two six-hour sessions.

Highly recommended, but not required: Shamanic Divination in Practice (online). NOTE: Participants must be able to journey to contact at least one helping spirit from the Upper or Lower Worlds.

Completion of the entire workshop (12 hours) is required for credit.
